Pre-wedding in the Lençóis Maranhenses
The session before the wedding deserves a setting worthy of your story. For 27 years I have photographed couples on these dunes, and the pre-wedding is the session I shoot most here: days before the dress, with no rush, just the two of you, the white sand and the bluest water in Brazil.
Why the Lençóis are the setting for your pre-wedding
There is no pre-wedding setting like it. The dunes change shape with every wind, the lagoons change color every month, and the late-afternoon light does the rest. You will not share the frame with anyone: I choose the dunes and the hours when the park belongs to you alone. And when the photos arrive, nobody will ask where they were taken.
/You don't need to know how to pose
Never done a photo session? Even better.
Nobody arrives here knowing how to pose, and that's exactly how it should be. I guide every moment with simple cues: where to look, how to walk, when to laugh. Natural movements, of two people who are truly together, with no forced pose sequence and no frozen smile. After 27 years doing this, I can share a secret: the most praised couples in my galleries are precisely the ones who arrived telling me they didn't know how to pose.
The best time of year for your pre-wedding
The lagoons are at their peak from June to September, when the rain from the start of the year has filled the basins between the dunes and the water takes on the turquoise and emerald tones you saw in the photos. July and August are the busiest months, and golden hour, from 4:30 to 5:30 pm, is when I schedule nearly every session.

Santo Amaro
The most preserved lagoons and the dunes less than 8 minutes from the village. It is where I take couples who want the park all to themselves, with time to spare for unhurried outfit changes.
Barreirinhas
The base with the most complete structure and the classic circuit, with Lagoa Azul in the morning and Lagoa Bonita in the afternoon. It calls for choosing the timing well, and that is what I do.
Atins
The rustic charm of where the Preguiças river meets the sea, with the wind that makes fabrics dance. The favorite for a pre-wedding with an adventurous soul.
How long to book and how many looks to bring
An hour and a half is enough for one well-chosen look and the essence of golden hour. Two hours is the format I recommend most for pre-weddings: time to warm up, change without rushing and explore two settings. Two and a half hours, in the VIP Photo & Video, add video to the same coverage. You do not have to decide now: I help you choose once I know your trip.

- How long before the wedding should we do the pre-wedding?
- There is no rule. Some couples come months ahead to use the photos on the invitations and in the reception décor, others have already married and do the session on their next trip, with the ring on and the lightness of having nothing left to organize. What really matters is the water window: June to September, when the lagoons are at their peak.
- Do we need to bring the wedding dress?
- No. Most pre-weddings I shoot use light, flowing looks rather than the wedding attire. If you want to bring the dress, it works beautifully on the dunes, but it is not necessary for an unforgettable session.
- We have never done a photo session, what now?
- Even better. I guide every moment with simple cues, with no forced pose sequence, and within minutes you forget the camera. The most praised couples in my galleries arrived saying they didn't know how to pose.
- Which base should we choose for the pre-wedding?
- Santo Amaro if you want the most preserved lagoons and the dunes less than 8 minutes from the village. Barreirinhas for the complete structure and the classic circuit of Lagoa Azul and Lagoa Bonita. Atins for the rustic charm of where the river meets the sea. I help you choose based on the style of your trip.
- Can we include video and drone in the pre-wedding?
- Yes. The drone comes in three levels, from 2 edited videos to the dedicated crew production, and the VIP Photo & Video already brings the full video experience, with an edited film and a crew on the ground.
- Do you photograph marriage proposals and vow renewals?
- Yes, and they are some of the most emotional sessions I do. I document surprise marriage proposals on the dunes, vow renewals and special celebrations. I help plan the route and ideal timing so everything turns out perfectly, with the most beautiful light and scenery.
